Germany and France Announce ZUGFeRD 2.5:
New Version to Support Gross Invoices This May

The Forum for Electronic Invoicing Germany (FeRD), in close coordination with its French partner FNFE-MPE, has announced that the next major update, ZUGFeRD 2.5, is scheduled for release on May 20, 2026.

Implementation of Gross InvoicesBeyond the mandatory semi-annual maintenance of code lists used in the European standard EN16931, version 2.5 introduces significant functional enhancements. Most notably, the update will enable the processing of gross invoices. This feature is specifically designed to meet the requirements of specialized industries such as book trade, publishing, and the petroleum sector.
