Egypt Launches Second Sub-Phase of
Electronic Receipt System’s Eighth Stage

Egyptian Tax Authority Chairman Rasha Abdel Aal announced Decision No. 281 for 2025, launching the new phase of the electronic receipt system. Listed taxpayers will be required to issue electronic receipts starting September 15, 2025.

Egyptian Tax Authority Chairman Rasha Abdel Aal announced the implementation of Decision No. 281 for 2025 regarding the “Second Sub-Phase of the Eighth Main Stage” of the electronic receipt system. This decision places new obligations on taxpayers and entities listed in the attached roster, effective September 15, 2025.

What Are the New Obligations?

Taxpayers and entities named in the decision must issue electronic tax receipts in the actual operating environment for services provided or goods sold to end consumers. They are also required to register on the electronic portal for the incentive program “Your Invoice – Your Protection and Reward.”

Taxpayers listed on the Egyptian Tax Authority’s official website must comply with the technological operating conditions specified by the Egyptian Tax Authority and establish the necessary infrastructure for issuing electronic tax receipts.

Information and Support Services

Rasha Abdel Aal stated that the Tax Authority has provided all information about the electronic receipt system through its official Facebook page, YouTube channel, and website. Taxpayers can access guide videos on system integration and usage through the “Your Guide to Dealing with the Electronic Receipt System” section.

The Tax Authority’s Integrated Communication Center responds to all inquiries and questions through hotline 16395. For reporting tax evasion cases, hotline 16189 is available from 9 AM to 4 PM, except Fridays and Saturdays.

The Tax Authority emphasized that obligated taxpayers should visit the Egyptian Tax Authority portal and follow the “Your Guide to Dealing with Electronic Receipts” to watch all videos explaining system integration and usage, as well as updates supporting taxpayers.
