Denmark OIOUBL 2.1 Schematron Version 1.16.0.RC Released –
A Step Toward Environmentally Responsible E-Invoicing
The Danish Business Authority (Erhvervsstyrelsen) has released OIOUBL Schematron version 1.16.0.RC for OIOUBL 2.1 as a Release Candidate.
Overview of the Update
This update introduces two new validation checks to enhance data quality and validity, along with support for CO₂ data in e-invoices.
This marks an important step toward combining financial accuracy with environmental responsibility.
From now on, e-invoices can include data on CO₂ emissions generated during the production, transportation, or delivery of goods and services.
This allows companies to make their environmental impact transparent, supporting sustainability and ESG reporting initiatives.
CO₂ information can be included either:
- At the invoice level, showing the total emissions for the entire document, or
- At the line-item level, indicating emissions per product or service.
While the inclusion of such data is optional, the schematron will validate its structure and correctness if used.
