Who is responsible for entering international transport data into the RO e-Transport System?
- The party responsible includes either the recipient named in the import customs declaration or the sender in the export customs declaration, applicable for import or export transactions.
- For goods acquired from an EU country, the duty falls on the Romanian beneficiary.
- In instances where goods are dispatched to an EU country, the Romanian supplier is accountable.
- The depositary is liable for goods involved in intra-community transit transactions, covering both goods offloaded in Romania for storage or forming a new shipment from one or more parcels of goods, as well as goods reloaded post-storage or after configuring a new transport within the nation from one or more goods consignments.
- Penalty: Fines ranging from RON 20,000 to RON 100,000, along with confiscation of undeclared goods. A similar penalty applies for discrepancies between reported and actual quantities in the RO e-Transport system.
