Malaysia Announces Updated E-Invoicing
Interim Relaxation Schedule
The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN) has released an updated guide featuring the “Interim Relaxation Period” for taxpayers transitioning to the e-invoicing system. The updated table outlines specific timelines designed to provide businesses with sufficient time to stabilize their operations and technical integrations.
Highlights:
- Phased Implementation: While large-scale taxpayers (over RM100 million) have already moved past their relaxation phase, smaller enterprises are granted a more extended transition window.
- Extended Period for SMEs: Taxpayers with an annual turnover of RM5 million or less have been granted an interim relaxation period lasting until December 31, 2026.
- Strategic Compliance: These periods are intended to allow businesses to rectify technical issues and ensure full data accuracy before strict enforcement begins.
