European Union Adopts Peppol PINT
Billing Standard / EU PINT Billing V1.0.0
Peppol has announced the release of the EU PINT Billing V1.0.0 specification. This marks the implementation of Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 as a PINT-compliant specification for both invoices and credit notes.
The specification is defined as a Core Invoice Usage Specification (CIUS) of EN 16931-1:2017 – Electronic invoicing, Part 1: Semantic data model of the core elements of an electronic invoice, developed in line with the guidance provided in Chapter 7 of EN 16931.
This means that any electronic invoice conforming to this specification is also fully compliant with EN 16931. With its restrictions, clarifications, and rules defined within CIUS, the new PINT standard ensures consistency and interoperability of e-invoices across the European Union.
