European Accreditation Introduces
New Multilateral Agreement Mark
European Accreditation (EA) launched its new Multilateral Agreement mark (EA MLA Mark) on September 1, 2025. The new mark will serve as an indicator of competence, compliance, and confidence for EA members and their accredited Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs).
Europe’s accreditation system has entered a new phase. The new marking system implemented by EA aims to enhance trust and recognition in conformity assessment services.
International Registration Valid in 43 Countries
The EA MLA Mark is registered as a collective mark with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Coverage: 43 countries that are EA MLA signatories – Albania, Algeria, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Montenegro, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Moldova, Republic of North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands, Tunisia, Türkiye, Ukraine, United Kingdom.
“European Recognition” Guarantee
The mark demonstrates that the National Accreditation Body (NAB) has been successfully peer-evaluated and is an EA MLA signatory. This also proves that the CAB is accredited by an EA MLA signatory NAB.
Important: The EA MLA mark must be used in combination with the national accreditation mark. The mark cannot be used to promote services or results in fields where the CAB is not accredited and/or the NAB has not signed the MLA.
The initiative represents EA’s commitment to building additional confidence in conformity assessment results across European markets while strengthening mutual recognition between member countries.
