Croatia Plans B2B E-Invoicing as Part of Fiscalization 2.0
The Croatian government has announced a revolutionary move: B2B electronic invoicing will become mandatory on January 1, 2026. This is a major step forward for corporate efficiency and tax modernization.
It is intended to impose both the requirement to produce electronic invoices and the requirement to disclose national transactions. Croatia’s tax modernization journey began with the Fiscalization Project 2.0. Planning the shift to electronic accounting, archiving, and invoicing between businesses is the goal. According to official projections, computerized accounting and B2B invoicing will become mandated in January 2026. The requirement will apply to cross-border transactions involving resident taxpayers.
Important Points:
- E-invoicing is required; this is meant to facilitate transactions and promote openness among resident taxpayers.
- Fiscal Project 2.0: By transforming accounting, electronic archiving, and tax reporting, this project will bring Croatia up to date with EU requirements.
- Eco-Friendly & Productive: Reduce paper work, welcome the digital age, and encourage environmental sustainability.
- Financial Agency (FINA): At the forefront, enabling safe transactions via the Peppol Network and eRačun Platform.
